2008-09 Premier and Competitive Programs:
Clarification and Modification of Programs

Background

The RRSC launched the Premier Program last year in order to provide training opportunities through out the year. As the program got started, RRSC allowed premier players to play in the Competitive Program as well. After much research and discussion, RRSC decided to separate the Premier and Competitive Program in the upcoming season. RRSC announced the change several weeks ago and discussed the two programs at the Members Annual Meeting. RRSC also held three information sessions during the Toyota State Cup this past weekend. Several issues were raised by those meetings.

Issue 1: Multiactivity Players

Our membership thought that RRSC would not allow players to play other sports while still participating in the Premier Program.

Clarification

RRSC has not, and will not, prevent any player from participating in the Premier Program while playing another sport or activity.

Issue 2: Premier and Competitive Soccer

Parents wanted the opportunity for their children to participate in the Premier Program and still have the option to play with the Competitive team during the summer.

Modification

As a result of the information the club has received at the recent sessions, the programs have been modified. The Premier Program for the U13 (U12s during 2008 season) and above teams for the upcoming season will end in late spring, and Premier Program players will be allowed to play competitive soccer during the summer. U11 and U12 Premier Program players will remain with their premier group during the upcoming competitive soccer season.

Please consider these modifications as you read the RRSC Program Guide and Registrations forms.

RRSC Academy Program:
New Program Information and Registration Available

The RRSC is announcing a new Academy program for our younger players who are interested in a higher level of training. This is a six-week training program for boys and girls ages 4-10.
